William B Swift (Bill Swift) was raised in Detroit, Michigan. He is the youngest of 6 children. Upon graduation from a Detroit Western high school where he excelled in JROTC, he enlisted in the Army. After his stint in the Army, he became a commercial carpenter. When the film industry incentives were implemented in Michigan, William became the lead carpenter at Lifton Institute for Media Skills building film sets. This is where his passion for film and the industry began. His time at the Lifton Institute allowed him to gain knowledge for many roles in the industry both behind the camera and in front. William was eventually asked, "Why are you not on the other side of the camera?" This question lead to the next chapter, his acting career. To date William has been in many feature films and on the hit TV series "The Dirty D" as the Captain. While continuing his acting career, he has also written multiple scripts, directed and produced his own feature film.
