Nilaanjan Reeta Datta, born in Assam, embarked on a journey shaped by diverse locales, schooling in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, culminating in an Economics degree from Pune University. However, his educational pursuits transcended conventional boundaries as he delved into a three-year postgraduate Diploma in Film & Video Editing at the prestigious Film & TV Institute of India (FTII), Pune. Emerging from FTII, Nilaanjan immersed himself in the realm of cinema, crafting impactful documentary films and captivating short films. His expertise wasn't confined to creative endeavors alone; he became a beacon in the education of cinema, imparting knowledge and wisdom to aspiring filmmakers across renowned institutions like FTII, Pune, and numerous others throughout India. In 2015, Nilaanjan unveiled his directorial debut, the compelling feature film 'The Head Hunter'. His artistic prowess didn't go unnoticed, earning him not just one but two National Film Awards of India. Furthermore, his exceptional talent was lauded with the prestigious Best Debut Direction Jury Award at the 25th Aravindan Purushkaram in Kerala. Continuing his trailblazing journey, Nilaanjan presented his latest magnum opus, 'Shadow Assassins', a Hindi film that graced screens across India and Singapore, captivating audiences and earning widespread acclaim for its brilliance.
